Ask any treasury team, CFO or payments leader what makes moving money difficult and the answer may surprise you: it isn't the payment itself. It's everything around it.

Moving value across currencies, banks, payment networks and different regulatory environments often requires stitching together multiple providers, accounts and systems. While every new payment method promises simplification, in practice, many just add another layer to manage.

Mastercard has long focused on solving for this challenge. Today, we’re sharing that the Open USD stablecoin will be available through BVNK, the stablecoin infrastructure company we acquired earlier this year. Financial institutions, distributors and enterprises will be able to access OUSD through BVNK alongside fiat currencies and other stablecoins, helping them move across different forms of money through infrastructure they already use.

This reflects a broader shift to a multi-money world where bank deposits, commercial card networks, real-time payments, digital assets and stablecoins increasingly operate within the same financial ecosystem. Because the challenge isn't creating more forms of money. It's helping businesses use them.

For treasury teams, that means managing liquidity more efficiently. For enterprises, it means paying suppliers and settling transactions across markets with greater flexibility. And for financial institutions, it means navigating new forms of money without creating new operational complexity.

In a multi-money world, the winners won't be those who bet on a single form of money. They'll be those who can use the right form of money for the right moment.
