An Ant International announcement republished by Finextra says the Central Bank of Brazil granted the company a Payment Institution licence. Ant says the licence builds on Antom's existing merchant acceptance of Pix, cards and alternative payment methods and will support broader local and cross-border payment and account services for enterprises, platforms and small and medium-sized businesses in Brazil.
FXC Intelligence reports that 85% of Premier League clubs have at least one sponsor connected to cross-border payments. PYMNTS reports that OpenReserve received preliminary conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to form OpenReserve Bank, N.A. The OCC's September register confirms the charter decision. OpenReserve says the proposed bank is intended to combine conventional credit and deposit services with tokenized deposits, stablecoin issuance and always-on settlement, but it has not received final approval or opened.
PYMNTS reports that Revolut received conditional OCC approval to form Revolut Bank US, N.A. Revolut's primary announcement and the OCC register confirm the milestone. The proposed bank still requires FDIC, Federal Reserve and final OCC approvals; Revolut says it is targeting a 2027 launch and would offer loans, cards, FDIC-insured deposits, stablecoins and crypto access only after all required approvals.
Payments Dive reports that Drew Turchin said in a LinkedIn post last week that he joined Stripe to lead its stablecoin-cards business. Turchin previously led business development and partnerships at Native Markets and worked at Uniswap Labs. Payments Dive says neither Stripe, its spokesperson nor the executives involved responded to requests for confirmation, and it is unclear whether the role is newly created.
Crunchbase News reported that Miami-based Félix, which provides an AI-assisted WhatsApp remittance service for Latino immigrants, announced a $200 million Series C co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst. The company says it plans to expand beyond remittances into broader financial services.

PYMNTS reports that Priority Commerce is encouraging finance teams to treat payment method, timing and supplier terms as working-capital decisions. Priority executive Court Toomey said cross-border payments represented less than 5% of Plastiq's total payment volume five years ago and more than 50% in August 2026, alongside growing use of integrated payables, virtual cards and faster payment rails.
ACI Worldwide released a Retail Systems survey of 203 payments professionals at 148 retail organizations across 18 markets. The service implementation will cover the bank's Fedwire Funds Service activity; ACI will operate the platform as a service while FHLBank Atlanta retains its payment operations. The release describes a vendor selection and planned implementation, not a completed production migration.
The Paypers reports that Ant International introduced FalconTST 2.0, an updated time-series model for forecasting foreign-exchange risk, liquidity needs and transaction flows in cross-border payments. Ant's release names Barclays, Citi, Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered among institutions using or evaluating the model and says it also plans applications in logistics, aviation and ecommerce.
FXC Intelligence reports that dLocal set quarterly records for revenue, gross profit and total payment volume in Q2 2026. The Paypers reports that global eSIM provider Eskimo partnered with Triple-A to add stablecoins as a checkout option. Triple-A's announcement says it handles conversion, custody-related infrastructure and compliance so Eskimo can receive conventional settlement; Eskimo says its reusable eSIM plans cover 175 countries and are used by more than one million travellers.
The Paypers reports that TerraPay partnered with Deutsche Bank to access its correspondent-banking network and strengthen U.S.-dollar settlement for cross-border payment flows. The arrangement is intended to give TerraPay additional banking connectivity and settlement support without requiring the fintech to build every bilateral relationship itself.
Global Trade Review's comparison of first-half 2026 bank results finds higher trade-loan demand across parts of Europe, Africa and Singapore, with weaker second-quarter signals in the Middle East after shipping disruption. HSBC's Global Trade Solutions revenue rose 12% year over year to $1.54 billion and trade loans approached $120 billion; UOB's gross trade loans rose 33% to S$50 billion.
PYMNTS reports that Interactive Brokers integrated Paysafe's SafetyPay so eligible Latin American clients can fund brokerage accounts directly from personal bank accounts in local currencies. The report says settled Stripe revenue becomes available without the standard two-day transfer to an external bank, while Treasury for Platforms is planned later in 2026.

Its product manager reports match rates above 92%, while failed-payment rates and customer-support enquiries among financial-institution users have each fallen by roughly half. Payments Dive reports that bill-payment platform Doxo agreed to pay $2.1 million in consumer redress to settle Federal Trade Commission allegations that it used deceptive search advertising, obscured delivery fees and enrolled some consumers in recurring subscriptions without adequate disclosure. The settlement is a proposed court order; the allegations are not findings of liability, and the order becomes binding only if approved by the court.

The deployment covers account, payment and FX activity, corridor- and client-specific AML controls, structured alert investigation with decision trails, and analytics intended to support governance and audit readiness.
Wise says eligible customers globally can now send money to people and businesses in Brazil using a recipient's Pix key—phone number, email, CPF or CNPJ—instead of entering full bank-account details. Senders can fund the transfer from more than 40 currencies without holding a Brazilian bank account or CPF. Wise says 77% of its transfers arrive in under 20 seconds; that is a company-wide claim rather than a measured result for this new Pix-key route.
Flywire and UnionPay International launched a 2026 campaign for students and families making cross-border education payments. The official release says UnionPay cardholders will receive more competitive foreign-exchange rates, higher payment limits, fewer checkout steps and faster confirmations; a Hong Kong credit-card promotion is continuing and expanding to South Korea, while Bank of China UnionPay credit cards are included in a separate promotion.
Flywire announced that it is expanding its Trustly partnership to offer Pay by Bank to Flywire clients worldwide collecting payments in the United States and Canada. The companies say the service uses ACH in the U.S. and pre-authorized debit in Canada, with real-time balance checks and payment guarantees intended to reduce reversals for large domestic and cross-border transactions.
Standard Chartered's Q3 RMB ecosystem analysis says Hong Kong raised its RMB Trade Financing Liquidity Facility from RMB200 billion to RMB500 billion and expanded the annual northbound Bond Connect quota from RMB500 billion to RMB800 billion. It also reports average daily CIPS payment value of RMB1.22 trillion and Q1 panda-bond issuance of RMB88.24 billion, while reviewing new local-currency settlement cooperation between China and Indonesia.
Digital Transactions reports that Francisco Partners agreed to acquire Moneris from BMO and RBC for C$2 billion (about US$1.43 billion), with the banks splitting the proceeds and retaining long-term referral agreements. Moneris says it serves 325,000 points of commerce and processes one-third of Canadian commerce transactions; closing is expected by the end of January, and former Global Payments CEO Jeff Sloan is due to become chairman.
CoinDesk, citing the Financial Times, reports that Erebor Bank is in advanced talks to raise about $1.5 billion at a roughly $9.5 billion valuation. Payments Dive reports that Iran-related travel disruption is pressuring Shift4's Global Blue tax-free-shopping business, which represents about 20% of Shift4 revenue. Shift4 reported second-quarter net income of $24 million, down 41%, on revenue of $1.3 billion, up 34%; it attributed a $20 million second-quarter hit to the conflict and expects a further $25 million tax-free-shopping impact plus a $20 million currency drag in the third quarter.
