Which companies are acquiring payment capabilities in 2026?

FXC Intelligence reviews 2026 payment-sector acquisitions as a way to add capabilities, local networks and customers. Its examples include Stripe’s announced Parafin deal, PayTabs’ agreement for Amazon’s MENA payment operations, and planned Reap, Cypher, Banco Travelex and Tazapay deals involving Payward, Nium, StoneX and Circle. This is a comparative research article, not an announcement that all transactions have closed.

Meta Wants to Write the Industry Standards for Safe Agentic Commerce, Report Says

Gizmodo, citing CNBC, reports Meta is working with Walmart, Stripe and Sierra on a personal agent protocol intended to help businesses distinguish authorised agent purchases. The article quotes participants describing a proposed shared framework. It does not establish an adopted industry-wide standard, guaranteed security or OpenAI's confirmed participation; the latter is presented as an expectation by Sierra's Bret Taylor.

Stripe to expand stablecoin cards to 100 countries as Privy's Henri Stern takes charge of crypto

CoinDesk reports, in an interview with Henri Stern, that Stripe plans to expand stablecoin card programs to more than 100 countries by year-end. Stern has added oversight of Stripe’s stablecoins and crypto to his Privy role. The country count is a target, not current availability; tokenized deposits and other use cases remain exploratory.

How stablecoins speed int’l payments

Payments Dive's October 2 article reports a September 21 interview with Latitude Global CEO Cyril Mathew. He describes fiat on/off ramps and stablecoin rails, claiming settlement under two minutes and coverage of about 50 countries, with expansion toward 200 planned. He stresses liquidity when choosing USDC or USDT and says compliance costs remain. Speed, coverage and savings are company claims, not independently tested guarantees or an already-completed global rollout.

Unchained reports that Open Standard launched OUSD on September 30 on Ethereum, Solana, Base and Tempo, issued by Stripe-owned Bridge. OUSD is now available on Stripe

Stripe says Open USD is now available alongside its existing stablecoin options through its APIs, including Bridge, Privy and Issuing. Businesses can hold OUSD with Treasury and send it to wallets in more than 100 countries. Minting and redemption carry no conversion fee, but Open Standard charges a transaction fee. Planned Ramp accounts are not evidence of completed customer rollout.

Stripe agrees to acquire Parafin to expand revenue opportunities for platforms and help small businesses grow

Stripe agreed to acquire Parafin, which provides embedded credit products to platforms including DoorDash, Gusto, Jobber and Mindbody. The proposed transaction is expected to close in coming months, subject to customary conditions and required regulatory clearances. The release gives no acquisition price; this is an agreement, not a completed acquisition.
