CoinDesk reports that the attacker behind Bitget’s roughly $388 million exchange breach moved about $83 million in stolen XRP from three of five holding wallets, leaving about $75 million in the original accounts. The report says Ripple cannot freeze XRP in attacker-controlled XRP Ledger wallets; Circle and Tether had frozen about $320,000 in related stablecoins. Bitget said its protection fund would cover losses and withdrawals were scheduled to resume in stages from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.
